Blogger Book Nook #1 - LAUNCH

Thank you Claire for the awesome design! x

I can't believe today has finally arrived! Today is the day that mine and Abbey's (from Abbey Louisa Rose) project is launched and I'm so excited. Abbey and I have had this idea from the start of summer so we are really proud that we can finally share with you what our project is and what it's all about. We also hope that you'll join us in this new project too as it's going to be super interactive and lots of fun!

SO WHAT IS BLOGGER BOOK NOOK?
Blogger Book Nook's main goal is too create a friendly community of wonderful bloggers who love to read as much as myself and Abbey. We wanted to create this community to help others and ourselves to boost our motivation to read as well as motivate us to go out of our reading comfort zones and read books we wouldn't normally pick up! We have created a Facebook group in the hopes that you'll join and join in with our discussions as well as motivate others to read more! If you want to join and haven't already then click here to be directed to the group to join!

Not only are we going to be posting regular in the Facebook group but Abbey and I will be uploading a Q&A on our blogs each month in line with the reading prompt for that month! Each month will have a different theme so that we can all try different genres and themes within the book universe! These Q&A posts are also designed that everyone else in the #Bbooknook community can take part as well and post their own answers on their blog too! - almost like a tag!

SEPTEMBER'S READING PROMPT IS NEWNESS
This month we thought we would choose the genre of new NEWNESS as we thought it be fitting as this is a new book club! So this reading prompt is to prompt us and you to pick up a book written by an author you haven't read before! The theme is a very open theme too so that it gives you a large variety of books that you can choose from. You can pick almost any book, as long as it's by an author you haven't read before!

Now, on to this months Q&A...

Q1. DO YOU LIKE TRYING NEW AUTHORS OR DO YOU STICK TO OLD FAVOURITES? WHY?
I love trying out new authors! I'm always discovering new stories that I want to read and most of these stories are by multiple different authors, so I'm always finding myself picking up books written by a new author. However I do also love sticking to my favourites such as Marissa Meyer and Paige Toon as I just know I'm going to love their stories! I usually pick up known author books when I'm in a reading slump as like I said I know I will enjoy it!

Q2. HOW DO YOU USUALLY FIND OUT ABOUT NEW AUTHORS? READING BLOG REVIEWS? ADVERTISEMENTS? RECOMMENDATIONS FROM FRIENDS?
My main source of finding new authors is Booktube! I love watching videos on Youtube from the Booktube community as they're such a great way to discover new stories and authors. I also love reading book reviews, so when ever I see a book review post retweeted on to my twitter timeline I always add it to my TBR blog post list so I can see if it'll be a book I want to read or not!

Q3. WHICH NEW AUTHORS ARE ON YOUR TBR LIST AT THE MOMENT?
I have so many new authors on my TBR and I'm dying to read their books! Here are just a few authors that our on my TBR list;
Renee Ahdieh, Maggie Stiefvater, Danielle L. Jense, Ransom Riggs, Sally Green, Sara Raasch

Q4. HAVE YOU COME ACROSS A NEW AUTHOR RECENTLY THAT YOU REALLY DIDN'T ENJOY READING? WHICH BOOK WAS IT AND WHY DIDN'T IT APPEAL TO YOU?
A book I read recently by an new author that I didn't 100% enjoy was 'Everything Everything' by Nicola Yoon. Unfortunately I just wasn't that amazed by it! Another author I was that much of a fan of was John Green, specifically 'The Fault In Our Stars', I just wasn't wowed by it unfortunately!

Q5. WHICH OF YOUR ALL TIME FAVOURITE AUTHOR'S BOOKS WOULD YOU GIVE TO A FRIEND WHO HAD NEVER READ THEIR WORK BEFORE?
Definitely any book written by Paige Toon! All her books are so fluffy and fun, I just adore them. They're also great books to read when feeling low and you need that great romantic pick me up!

MY BOOK RECOMMENDATION
This month I knew exactly what book I wanted to recommend as it's the book I'm currently reading and LOVING! It's such a magical read set in Scotland and is all about the mystery of Fae and why they still children from the human villages! It sounds quite odd but if you love anything mystical then you will love this book as much as I'm loving it!

The book is called 'The Changeling's Journey' and the author is Christine Spoors. In fact this is Spoors very first debut novel and it's a brilliant one too, so I definitely think you should give it a go or read the synopsis! You may be surprised and really enjoy yourself!

It's not too late to join in on this months theme! Why not give yourself the goal of reading a book by an author you haven't read from and then write a blog post on it! It could be a review or you can answer the questions above or you can do both!! Just remember to tag #BBookNook when you share it so Abbey and I can find your posts, as will definitely want to read it!

Please don't forget to join our facebook group! We can't wait to get this group up and running with loads of discussions!
