Why Reading Is So Important To Me

Tuesday, 1 December 2015
Without reading I don't know how I would cope, honestly I really wouldn't. Reading has benefited me in so many ways but the most important thing that it's helped me with is that it helps me to escape, it allows me to escape. During the moments where I have felt incredible down or so stressed with college I don't know what to do with myself, books have helped me to relax and feel happy again. I'm sure many of you feel the same as me and I'm sure you all know how much joy one book can bring to an individual and I now rely on books to help me relax and take a breather. Like I said, I don't know what I would do without books, I think is be stuck and not too sure what to do with myself.

What I also love about reading is how I've been introduced to the app Goodreads! It's opened up so many opportunities and it helps me so much to find out what books I should read next, all thanks to the wonderful community! Booktube has also impacted my life, I love watching people review books and see what they've recently bought and why, it really encourages me to read (unfortunately I never know what book to order next!!). Booktube, bookstagram and Goodreads is what helped me bring up my confidence to start up my blog. Although it's new I've already got a great audience and I'm so grateful for everyone who reads it!

I thought I'd insert a picture of me, seeing as this post is kind of about me! (Fun fact about tabithareadsbooks: I absolutely adore sea lions and I wish to work with them in the future, whether that's in captivity or conservation! I'm currently studying animal management and hope to venture on to university next year!).

I know this post was relatively short but I thought it would be nice to explain why reading is so important to me. It helps me in many ways and I would love to know if reading helps you? Comment down below and I'll reply to your comment as soon as I can!

  2. Hey, Tabitha!

I totally feel the same way towards books, I wouldn't know either where I'd be without them or who I'd be without them! I mean, they've helped be so much as I've grown up helping me escape myself and meh moments! Yes, they're great stress relievers and life savers, and it's good to know that I'm not the only one that feels that way towards books and finds some "shelter" or an "escape" in them!

    Great post! x
